Movement in the Classroom
Tuesday July 29, 2025 1:00pm - 1:50pm CDT
Incorporating movement into the classroom can significantly enhance student focus, engagement, and learning retention. By incorporating physical activity into lessons, teachers can help students re-energize their bodies and minds, improve attention spans, and reduce stress. Movement in the classroom addresses the reality that students are not meant to be seated all day. Research has shown that movement allows students to be focused for longer periods of time, engaged in the classroom environment and have less overall anxiety. Locomotor movement is needed for physical and mental health, but it also supports student learning.
We will be actively participating in "Brain Boosts" throughout this session. Come prepared to move.
